Roger’s Landing is a community boat launch and docking facility, owned and operated by the River John Community Action Society. Roger’s Landing was developed through the hard work of members of the River John Community Action Society, with financial support from the federal, provincial and municipal governments. The facility was the vision of Roger MacLellan and is named in his honour.

Rogers’s Landing is made possible by user donations. There is no set fee for berthing space or slipway use. Donations are encouraged (and needed) to cover the expenses associated with maintaining and improving the facility. 

•    Boat launch will be open dawn to dusk, May 22 to mid-October. 
•    Reserved docking spaces for boats 24 feet or less starting late June.  
•    Reserved docking spaces allocated for 2-week periods from June – September. 
•    Docking spaces will be allocated through a draw. There will be a draw for each two-week period. 
•    One entry per boat per draw period. 
•    Two-week docking privileges start on Monday mornings and end Sundays at midnight. 
•    All winners must provide proof of insurance before using the docks. 
•    Berthing spots must be used by the draw winner only. Spaces are not transferable.
•    Winners will be assigned a reserved space at the dock. Please dock at the space assigned to you.

Winners must agree to the Terms and Conditions of dock usage (above) and the Rules and Regulations of Roger’s Landing.

Berthing space availability is subject to change. The Roger’s Landing Committee will have final say in dock usage/berthing. All dock users will be required to show proof of insurance, and sign an agreement to follow the rules and regulations of Roger’s Landing. 

There is no set fee for use of the slipway. Donations are welcome and needed and can be made by: 

• e-transfer to rogerslanding@outlook.com,

• cheque to River John Community Action Society, PO Box 161, River John, NS, B0K1N0. 

• dropping a donation in the donation box at Roger’s Landing (to be installed soon)

No parking at Roger's Landing

Due to the small size of this facility and the need for turning space for vehicles with boat trailers, there is no parking at Roger's Landing including the driveway. Parking is available across the river and on side streets in the area. Unattended vehicles may be subject to a financial penalty and/or removed at owner's expense.
